RULES
Age and Weight
All dogs must be at least 5 months old and weigh a minimum of 10 pounds to attend an initial temperament test, daycare, and/or boarding. No exceptions.
Spay and Neuter
All dogs must be spayed or neutered to attend temperament testing, daycare, and/or boarding. This applies regardless of first heat cycle. Pregnant dogs, dogs in heat, and dogs with vasectomies are not permitted. No exceptions.
Vaccinations
All dogs must have current, non-expired vaccinations in order to attend temperament testing, daycare and/or boarding. Vaccines are considered expired the day after the listed expiration date, and dogs will not be permitted to attend once records are out of date. No exceptions.
Owners must submit written veterinary records through the client portal showing current DHPP, Lepto, Rabies, Bordetella, CIV, and a negative fecal float within the past 12 months that includes Giardia testing. SNAP tests are not accepted as standalone screening.
Some vaccines require an initial two-part series. Both the primer and booster must be completed before a dog is eligible to attend.
It is the owner’s responsibility to provide updated records prior to expiration in order to avoid service interruptions.
Positive Fecal Test
Any dog who tests positive on a fecal screening is not permitted on Pup City grounds. This restriction also applies to all dogs within the same household who attend Pup City.
Owners must provide written documentation from a licensed veterinarian confirming completion of the full prescribed treatment protocol. Dogs may return only after treatment has been completed, gastrointestinal symptoms have resolved, and a negative fecal screening performed 2 to 4 weeks after completion of the prescribed medication has been submitted and verified.
All household dogs who utilize Pup City services must also provide updated negative fecal screening results prior to returning.
Flea and Parasite Prevention
All dogs must be free of fleas, ticks, and parasites, both internal and external, in order to attend daycare or boarding. All dogs must also be on year-round flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Aggression
Dogs entering the facility must not have a history of aggression or dangerous behavior toward other dogs or people.
Health
All dogs entering the facility must be in good health and free of any condition that could put other dogs or staff at risk. Veterinary clearance is required for any dog that has been ill with a communicable condition within the past 30 days and/or is showing symptoms consistent with a contagious illness, including coughing, phlegm, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Dogs with stitches, cones, dry bags, splints, wraps, or similar medical equipment are not permitted.
Temperament Test
All dogs must pass a dog-friendly temperament test before attending daycare or boarding. This applies regardless of previous daycare or boarding experience elsewhere. No exceptions.
Updated Temperament Requirement
At the discretion of staff, dogs who have not attended Pup City within the last 6 months may be required to complete an updated temperament test or attend daycare twice, consisting of 1 half day and 1 full day, before being boarded.
Updated temperament tests are not free and will be charged based on the amount of time the dog is on site.
Pack Play Requirement
Pup City does not offer individual play for daycare or boarding. All dogs must be able to socialize and participate safely in supervised pack play. No exceptions.
New to Household
Recently adopted or purchased dogs must acclimate to their new household for a minimum of 90 days before attending Pup City.
Boarding Acclimation Requirement
All dogs must complete a minimum 3-day daycare acclimation period before being boarded. This consists of 2 half days and 1 full day. The acclimation period does not need to be consecutive. No exceptions.
Behavioral Suspension
Pup City reserves the right to suspend any dog from daycare and/or boarding due to disruptive or unsafe behavior. This includes, but is not limited to, mounting, excessive vocalizing, biting, aggression, barrier reactivity, resource guarding, rough play, inability to self-regulate, destructive tendencies, possessiveness, bullying, excessive marking, and other recurring behavioral concerns.
Expulsion
Pup City reserves the right to permanently remove any dog from services at any time for safety, behavioral, or operational reasons. Expulsions do not require prior suspension periods.
Employee Safety
Any dog that bites or aggressively makes contact with an employee may be immediately removed from daycare or boarding, regardless of intent or circumstance. Bites that break skin will require early pickup and may result in suspension or permanent removal from Pup City services.
Forms and Registration
All required registration, owner, and dog-related documents must be completed and submitted prior to the scheduled temperament test. It is the owner’s responsibility to complete all required forms in a timely manner.
Reservations
All dogs must have a confirmed reservation before attending daycare or boarding. Reservations may be made through the client portal or by calling the front desk.
Leashes and Collars
All dogs entering the facility must be leashed and wearing a flat collar. Chain, choke, and prong collars are not permitted. Dogs arriving in a harness must also be wearing a flat collar. Harnesses will be removed upon entry.
Leashes, collars, and other personal items should be clearly labeled by the owner. Pup City is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items, including leashes, collars, ID tags, bedding, blankets, toys, and food containers.
Food and Beverages in Facility
Customers are not permitted to bring food or beverages into the facility, with the exception of water or coffee.
Children
All children under the age of 15 must remain under the direct supervision of an adult at all times while inside the facility.
Customer Access
Customers are not permitted beyond the lobby without the supervision of a Pup City employee.
Customer Conduct
Clients must treat staff with courtesy and respect at all times. Pup City has zero tolerance for aggressive, threatening, abusive, harassing, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate behavior toward employees. Pup City reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services to any individual who engages in such conduct.
Right of Refusal
Pup City reserves the right to refuse service to any dog or customer at any time for safety, behavioral, health, or operational reasons.
POLICIES
Skunk Odor Policy
Dogs that have been sprayed by a skunk must wait 7 days and be reasonably scent-free before returning to the facility.
Dog Food and Meals
All meals must be individually bagged, excluding refrigerated items, clearly labeled with the dog’s first and last name, and consistently portioned unless otherwise noted. Please do not label bags by date or meal type unless the contents differ.
Owners should pack extra food to account for travel delays, inclement weather, emergency extensions, or other unexpected situations.
Meal times are conducted in individual kennels. Boarding dogs may be kenneled during meals and scheduled rest periods.
Negative Behavioral Output While on Site
Dogs displaying repeated or unsafe behavior while on site may be isolated from pack play for safety reasons. If behavior does not improve or continues to place the dog, other dogs, or staff at risk, the owner may be contacted for early pickup. Daycare and/or boarding charges remain unchanged regardless of time spent isolated.
On-Site Illness
Some viral illnesses may not show symptoms immediately after exposure. If a dog begins showing signs of illness while on site, the dog will be removed from pack play and monitored. If symptoms continue, worsen, or can be replicated, the owner will be contacted for pickup. Daycare and/or boarding charges remain unchanged regardless of time spent isolated.
Daycare Hours
Daycare drop-off begins at 7:00 AM and daycare pick-up ends at 7:00 PM. Please call the front desk regarding any special scheduling requests.
Boarding Hours
Boarding drop-off and pick-up hours are 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM on weekdays and 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on weekends. Boarding is charged by 24-hour period.
Regardless of drop-off or pick-up time, boarded dogs will be placed in their assigned kennel during meals and designated rest periods.
Boarding Blackout Dates
Boarding drop-offs and pick-ups are not permitted on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day.
If a boarding stay overlaps a blackout date, charges will apply from the latest available non-blackout drop-off time through the soonest available non-blackout pick-up time.
Late Pick-Up
There is a $10 fee for any dog picked up on weekdays after 7:00 PM and before 7:30 PM, and an additional $10 fee for any dog picked up between 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM. Late fees are applied at checkout.
Any daycare dog still on site after 7:00 PM will be placed in a kennel until pickup or 8:00 PM. Any dog still on site after 8:00 PM will be boarded overnight. Kennel size and boarding rate will be determined by staff.
The same policy applies on weekends, except all timeframes shift 1 hour earlier.
Rescheduled Temperament Tests
There is no fee for temperament tests that are scheduled and/or rescheduled up to 2 times. If a temperament test is rescheduled a 3rd time or more, Pup City will charge either a half-day daycare rate for stays under 5 hours or a full-day daycare rate for stays over 5 hours.
Soiled Personal Items
Pup City does not guarantee laundering of personal items. Any items that become soiled may be bagged, labeled, and returned at pickup. If needed, house bedding may be used to maintain kennel comfort during a boarding stay.
Emergency Veterinary Care
If a dog becomes ill or injured while in Pup City’s care and requires veterinary attention, Pup City may seek treatment from a licensed veterinarian or emergency clinic. Reasonable attempts will be made to contact the owner or emergency contact first, but immediate care may be authorized when necessary for the dog’s health or safety. All veterinary costs are the responsibility of the owner.
Medication Policy
If medication is accepted for a boarding stay, it must be clearly labeled with the dog’s full name, medication name, dosage, and administration instructions. Pup City reserves the right to decline medication that cannot be safely administered by staff.
Abandonment
Dogs are considered abandoned if they have not been picked up, and no communication has been received from the owner, within 48 hours of the scheduled pick-up time. Abandoned dogs may be transferred to a local rescue or other appropriate placement, and the owner may lose the ability to reclaim the dog.

HEALTH INFORMATION
Canine Cough
Canine Cough, also called Kennel Cough, is a common and highly contagious respiratory infection that can be contracted anywhere dogs gather, including dog parks, dog shows, daycare facilities, and boarding facilities. Symptoms may include sneezing, a honking cough, white foamy phlegm, lethargy, runny nose, and more. Dogs are generally considered contagious until 7 days after symptoms have fully resolved.
Canine Papilloma
Canine Papilloma, also called canine warts, consists of round, cauliflower-like growths often found on the lips, tongue, throat, or gums. While many dogs are asymptomatic, infected sores can cause pain, changes in eating habits, bad breath, and discomfort. This condition is highly contagious, and dogs are considered contagious until all oral warts have resolved.
Grooming
Grooming services are available only to existing Pup City daycare and/or boarding clients. Grooming services are currently temporarily unavailable.
